IWE SYSTEM

 Purpose: Uses vacuum to engage/disengage the front wheel hubs from the axle in 2WD/4WD modes.
Failure: Causes grinding noises during acceleration or turning, especially in 2A, due to partial engagement. 

 Purpose: Regulates vacuum to the IWE actuators based on 4WD mode selected.
Failure: Can lead to vacuum leaks or incorrect vacuum timing, causing random engagement or grinding. 

 Purpose: Prevents vacuum loss by allowing one-way flow from the vacuum source.
Failure: Allows vacuum to escape, leading to insufficient vacuum at startup—causing IWE actuators to partially engage and grind. 

 Purpose: Transfers torque from the front differential to the wheels.
Failure: Causes vibrations, clunking noises, and loss of power to the wheel—may also damage IWE components if broken near the hub. 

 Purpose: Carries vacuum from the engine or pump to the IWE system.
Failure: Cracks or leaks result in loss of vacuum pressure, leading to failed disengagement of the front hubs and grinding noise in 2WD. 

 Purpose: Houses the wheel bearing and clutch ring that connects/disconnects with the axle via the IWE actuator.
Failure: Worn clutch rings cause constant grinding, even if other components are working.
